In order to properly treat the presence of mold, we follow a strict step-by-step protocol to guarantee that all mold is effectively removed from your property.

  1. Repair the water problem: All mold growth is the result of some type of underlying water or moisture problem. We identify the source and correct it to prevent further growth.
  2. Isolate the contaminated areas: We close all doors and windows between the contaminated area and other rooms, cover all doorways with polyethylene sheeting, and seal all HVAC ducts.
  3. Suppress dust: We use a variety of cleaning methods to remove dust, including misting surfaces with a diluted soap and employing HEPA vacuums and vacuum-shrouded tools.
  4. Remove damaged material: All wet and/or mold-damaged material is removed using proper equipment and placed in plastic bags for safe disposal.
  5. Clean: Level 1 messes are cleaned using a damp cloth or mop with a detergent solution. Level 2 messes require the use of a HEPA vacuum.
  6. Visibility test: All property must pass a thorough visual mold inspection to make sure that no mold remains.
  7. Dry: Clean materials are dried to allow leftover moisture to evaporate, then fans and dehumidifiers are used to raise the indoor air temperature.
  8. Replace: All remaining materials removed from the property will be replaced or repaired.

Call the experts at Continuum Restoration at the first sign of mold to avoid hazardous health conditions and further damage to your property. Some websites will suggest that inspection and testing by a qualified professional isn’t necessary if you can see or smell the mold. But mold isn’t always visible to the naked eye, and mold can be growing even where no smell exists. A proper inspection will not only identify the presence and species of mold, it can also assess your exposure level, measure indoor air quality and help identify any other hidden sources of mold growth throughout the property.
